Hrafen-
Surely you did not truly think to keep secret from me that you have wished to surprise me with a certain gift. With as many as you have told, I begin to wonder if you planned for word to come to me! Even so, in normal circumstances I would not speak of it or interfere, for you do amuse me so, my friend, and the thought is generous.
But this is not what I would call normal, and I must insist that you not do this thing. I do not relish the aftermath of an errant sneeze, though the immediate result does strike me as potentially humorous. However, if you should be able to find a lesser form, it may be workable!
In either case, I shall thank you to leave me the sole entity in these whereabouts from whose mouth fire may issue from time to time!

Hey Coro,
I’m glad you got out of the dark places. From what I’ve heard, just some shivering in the cold has got to be way better than being there. I’m glad you and Math are alright.
Hey, Esgaroth is where Mr. Van’s from. You probably don’t remember me talking about him, but. I’ve known him ever since I was a little kid. Even since before I nearly died. And Hrafen’s from there too, right? I bet it’s wicked brilliant. Houses on the lake like that, I mean. Right ON the sodding lake. If I lived there I’d like. Never stop swimming. Except in winter.
So what’s wrong with third wheels, again? Wheelbarrows work better if they got three. I don’t really know anything with wheels that works better with just two. Well, maybe a little hand cart or something. Haaaa! I know what you mean, though. I guess it would feel kind of weird. But hey, you already knew why he wanted to go there before you went. Wait. You did, right?
I don’t really want to talk about Yule, but. Atan’s alright. Well, he’s probably missing me, and that. I miss him. He’s off with the company again, in Forochel. I got a couple of letters, though. He sounded good. Tripper’s good, too. He’s growing so fast! Right, I’ve got to get back to work now. Sorry for the ink blobs. Luin jumped on me while I was trying to write. What a sorry wanker. He’s watching me write that part. Haaa!

I’m back. I think I can do it now, and I’ve decided. I’ll come tomorrow. I understand that there must be a witness, but please, I don’t want anyone else in the room. I also want the doors behind me left unlocked until we’re done.

Hrafen never gets what he wants, man. And d’aww. Ben’s letter is adorable, too. I’m sure Luin tried to get Trip to help him screw Ben’s writing up.
